Flowers I noted

On a bus return trip to the seaside . Start stop start stop gathering speed. Then roadworks.

shepherd's purse 
against a wall
stardust graffiti

The bus becomes crowded. Some get off as others get on.

roadside bench
cow parsley constellates
between the slats

From point of alighting to point of reboarding, the crunch of pebbles beneath swish of the froth.

behind the shelter
sea lavender sways
from cracks between walls

Sun blazes glass. Closed windows too high up to reach for the air as waves on the shore recede. 

windchimes suspended
to herald the front door
a bluebell-lined path

Yes. The trip remains a celebration.

wine hued 
a late magnolia 
lifts its cups

Such a longing for a bed. To close the eyes weighted by pebbles, peer through the holes. “Home and the journey are one,” said Basho.
