Beverly A. Tift
Sunseeker
Today the light is a blizzard. The wind keens higher and higher as the windows rattle with incessant gusts. With a slight nudge, another puzzle piece slips into place with a sharp snap.
I seek the sun in a wall hanging—hand-knitted in twelve hues of gold and white—by running my fingers over books, unable to choose just one, and by staring into the shadows that imperceptibly engulf this day.
