visio and vita

set fire to the wind, and be silhouette and prophecy: be that archer in the red and cosmic snow, and set your white stone down in your own revelation: turn missiles into kingfishers with their blue beyond: flame now with consciousness, take to the wing of the sky like a gull, and your dreams will be like oysters deep in the history of sea and shell…

and as a red kite hovers in sky and cloud, climb the mountain in the grip of the wind and its memory, speak stone and prayer like a planet, sing as the earth itself sings, in drama, light and water, the nightingale creating an arc of song and rainbow, with all the rhythm of rain…

and just as starfish turn into stars, and sunflowers become the sun, so crows call out in their great black scherzo, and overshadow the ground with latency and wing: and the chiaroscuro of awareness will flower in a burst of firework and star, and we will come to be all that we are, synonymous, vital with yesterday, and tomorrow, and belonging:

rising at dawn
from a grey mist
& still full of dreams
I grasp the morning star
& sweep the floor with light
