Not So Mundane

When the doctor phoned, it was an ordinary day in a year when rain fell in time for crops to be planted and harvested.  Creeks and rivers ran bank-high but didn’t flood.  The sun shone and cyclones did not make landfall.

after his scalpel
excises her tumour
all that remains
is a shattered shell
bound with fraying string

  1. Hi Marily,

What an interesting contrast – seems like everything is going well–things close but nothing over the line, then the emphasis on ‘frayed edges” perhaps it is only time, as to how long it will all hold together. Nothing is ever perfect or constant.

This is a very nice read it gives one pause to think about life/ nature a little deeper.
