Warhol’s first independent work of art was of himself creating a polished veneer, a mask where he could see everyone’s reactions, but they could not evaluate his methods or reasonings, or his personage.
Was the world merely a reflection of Warhol’s imaginings or were his imaginings a reflection of what the world was to become?
In this same time period, Hugh Hefner was a freelance photographer, photographing nude women, another elusive art form at that same time. The first Playboy Magazine was born with Marilyn Monroe featured—Dec.10, 1953; every sighted man’s bathroom pin-up photo.

Alan,
Thank you, yes it is a bit different, I am glad you like it. I have 3 other haibun here with CHO , in the past and I see a huge difference in my approach this time. I appreciate the diversity of this platform at CHO.
All the best, Karina
Great one and different.
Biswajit,
Thank you, Biswajit, happy you liked it!
I love your interplay between text and tanka and then the interplay with my memory, studying Warhol at art college and recently immersing myself in the ‘Three Times Out’ exhibition in Dublin last autumn.
Seeing other writers approaches to a form encourages me to experiment.
Thank you for this poetic experience , Karina.
Hello Guy,
Thank you — that is interesting. I have googled – The Three Times Out, Exhibition of last year. Still looking, found a couple of interesting comments. Yes, the poem does have a lightly hidden story, perhaps you picked up on it. Again, Thank you and Good Luck to you.
All the Best, Karina
