Tish Davis
Birds from Heaven
awakened by
Black-necked cranes
passing through
their sacred
song
How complete
this cycle of wings against the wind
their destination unknown
Will they winter in Bhutan
circle three times the Gangteng Monastery?
Will Earth retain its path to spring?
For now, this silence in which I float
Black-necked cranes...
perhaps
I will
be gifted wings
in my next life
