The Interns
Mom has us go through her checklist once again. Our parents are about to leave us alone with our baby sister for a couple of hours. I catch my older brother rolling his eyes. “We know, Mom. Just go already!” I say cockily.
Barely half an hour later, a foul stench lingers. My brother and I argue over who should do the dirty deed. Finally, we agree to cooperate. We take a step back to admire our handiwork, and celebrate with high fives.
