Conjunctions
Over the past few years, at my own slow pace, I’ve painted all the walls in my house. Every time I drive to Dunn-Edwards for more supplies, deep in the urban industrial zone, I notice a sign at the strip mall across the street—Museum of Ancient Wonders. There it sits, between Big Lots and a pizza place, an unassuming storefront barely visible from the highway. They say a plethora of replicas and a smattering of originals lurk within, from Egyptian relics to fossil skeletons. I’m always too busy to stop, and truth be told, too jaded. Maybe if I were younger and looking to be amused, or to notch another quirky experience on my belt. For now, I’m content with the wonders of premium paint and Purdy brushes, and all the imperfections they can hide.
