At the Sundance Saloon the hard-eyed boss is in a huddle with her gang of shifty lowlifes, chewing tobacco and spitting into the sawdust, slugging shots of whisky, firing at the chandeliers and bad-mouthing the staff. I want to knock jam-filled sponges out of orbit to plummet with the petits choux and pink fancies, run out of this lace tea shop hand in hand with the waitress through a hail of buttered scones, into a white-hot freeze frame light.
