Circles of Smoke

I keep running romantic stories in my head, hoping that they will seep into the folds of my brain to become memories. And then, one day I might tell our grandchildren about those nights that we spent on the terrace with our backs leaning on the full moon.

nothing remains
but for a moment
a blue butterfly
           balancing
on a soap bubble
