She sits on the red bench in the neighbourhood park. Raindrops fall on her rainbow umbrella. The silhouette of her body tells me she’s not young. I’ve never seen her here before and I wonder who she’s waiting for in this weather.
My dog pulls at the leash. I walk through the gate with another small mystery.

Neena Singh lives in Chandigarh, India. Her haiku, senryu, tanka, and haibun have appeared in online and print journals. Former banker, she now runs a non-profit for underprivileged children. She enjoys exploring gardens and has authored two books of poetry.
