What’s in a Name?
Here to buy the same make, same model as the last car, but 10 years newer. A test drive in the white one, then back to the lot, where an intriguing blue version catches my eye.
Hmm. White … an egret’s breeze-blowsy feathers. A soft drift of cloud. A blank piece of paper, waiting for ink.
Or blue … an avalanche of borage flowers. A flash of Steller’s jay. The salesman watches my gaze, back and forth, back and forth. It’s called Aegean blue, he says.
Of course it is.
