Masculine Mystique

Browsing for a good read, I come across the trappings of manly fiction. Beneath alpha male covers hide scorch-proof frames of the red-hot romance whose heroes are totems of brute masculinity. In the feminine version of the genre, heroines typically possess awesome powers of desirability, while scruffy heroes possess awesome powers of desire. One lusty man after another unfailingly sparks the ardor of any girl or woman he encounters even if he’s sick, drunk, or drugged. Whoever she is, if she’ll have him, he’s up for the job.

Treasures found in the used bookstore, soon to close. I’ll miss these musty canyons of fantasy where the remains of the day are hidden.
