Accounting
I have this theory that if I can remember every pet I had as a child it proves I have a good memory, and hopefully, a good memory leads to a long life. There’s an obvious flaw in the theory: any list of all the pets I can remember will be complete by definition because there’s no accounting for the pets I can’t remember. For example, there’s the dog I never had that’s impossible to remember or forget.
