The lake is a morgue. Newspaper articles speak of “misunderstood animal love” that has led to the death of all the birds that live near the lake. Fed breadcrumbs, day in and day out. Thrown into the water. One day, foul gases rose from the bottom of the lake.

Kati Mohr is a disabled intuitive artist and poet living in Germany with her family and two rabbits. Her art aims to trace the filters humans apply, as how we see things often says more about us than about the thing itself. Delighted that it was accepted, gives me hope. My Safe? haibun was multiple rejected until Prune Juice published it this month. So I might venture something to CHO and see what happens.
