Grandad was taken when they robbed the house. I think they mistook him for pearls or watches. They certainly thought he was something expensive.
We’d never got around to scattering him and the urn was, I admit, unusual—a light green metallic, hammer-painted pot. Mum kept him by her bedside, on a shelf above her jewellery box.
