Ryan Jessup
A Revelation in Spring
be water my friend
– Bruce Lee
yesterday evening I tried with all my strength to open a rusted mason jar full of peaches but eventually gave it up and decided to run some hot water over it and left it out on the counter while I gave Harrison and Caroline a bath
later in the night after everyone was asleep I came back to the kitchen and had some bourbon and picked up the jar and gave it one more turn and it opened easier than turning a door knob and entering the room of a new world
after rain
a frog spread wide
on the sliding door

Subtle prose and stellar verse. I love how the haibun links with the Bruce Lee’s quote
This is such beautiful writing. I will keep coming back to this one.
