Holes…
I know—
I may never be able to play Chopin's Etude, Opus 10, No. 3. I may never win a Pulitzer Prize in literature.
And yet—
I enjoy practicing scales on the piano, even the Hannon exercises. Playing them flawlessly, and feeling the tingling sensation on my fingertips. It gives me a thrill.
I enjoy tinkering with the first draft of a poem. Searching for the perfect word and arrangement consumes me.
Perhaps—
I remember Kenko's words—Emptiness accommodates everything.
