harvest hymn. . . once more the ears of sunset hares
Gratitude for days like this when heart and mind are at ease with each other. There’s comfort in retracing steps and sometimes the thoughts that moved them. Moors one side, Dales the other, the just-as-it-should-be of the skyline. When all is still and you can hear for miles, boots on track are a mantra for every mood. The play of light, the calls of birds, the changing hues and scents, make ritual of habit, bending the knee to the wheel of the year.
But then there are other days.
