Adelaide B. Shaw
Star Power
Late dusk, the tall pines silhouetted against streaks of purple, tinges of pink. Soon all color is gone and the first star appears. What wishes I had as a child. To be a ballerina. Perhaps some rain to cool off this muggy night, and a breeze to chase away the mosquitoes.
a swelling chorus of crickets and tree frogs my one voice
