At first I simply thought I was looking in the wrong book. So I faithfully checked each of the author’s work in my collection, scanning every single page. I had quoted this poem to friends when they were in mourning. I had even recited it to myself for solace.

between waking and sleep

David Grayson lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his family. He has been writing haiku and related forms for twenty years. His first book, Discovering Fire: Haiku & Essays, was published by Red Moon Press in 2016.
