Nervous Blinking
I’m no proverbial ostrich. My head is not in the sand. But I’m tuning out a lot of the news these days. Unwilling to give attention, even negative attention, to those who so badly crave it.
So much seems backwards. So much seems wrong. So much seems upside down. Like footballers playing an away game. The booing of the crowd sounds like the cheering of the crowd at home. And, like the ancient Sanskrit phrase: “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.”
these noisy days
seeping into
my quiet nights
the hummingbird’s
whirling wings
