Sizing Up

I hurried into a computer centre along the court fence. I needed to correct the relief page of a claimant’s pleadings. I handed the paper to a young man. In a short while, he was done reproducing the page and effected the correction I highlighted in blue ink. What’s left was to format the text the way it appeared on the paper given to him. We use an uncommon font in my firm. But the boy had typed the document in Times New Roman. He had been surfing the font type list in search of the particular font on the paper I had given him. I didn’t quickly realize his trouble until he asked his colleague who sat to my right what the font was, raising the document to his face. The colleague looked at it and responded almost immediately: “This is Tahoma, and the font size is 13.”

  1. Hi Taofeek,

I enjoyed this, lucky though someone actually knew what it was, some are very good, but he may have been in training (the original guy) as that is usually who I seem to get, the one in training! A nice smooth read. Thanks. Karina

    • Hi Karina. Thank you for reading my haibun and for the kind feedback. I’m glad you find it a smooth read.
The original guy was truly undergoing training. And yes, some are genius at what they do.
