Abacus

I move the beads to calculate the next purchase. The feel of the wood is weighted with anticipation. There is something about the movement, the touch, the colours beneath my fingers. As if they contain a currency that will fill the void of insolvency. When so much is beyond our control, this simple act of counting brings me back to balance.

  1. Some of my favorite haibun and haiku move beyond the visual. Your abacus fills the moment and leaves room for further exploration. Thank you!
