And Then, Silence 

Her wind chime drips with flashbacks. I descend into its puddle.  How the years became stinging nettles. 

She asks why, after so long, I’ve reached out. 

two hummingbirds 
swirling in synchronicity 
the silence 
as I fog the car window 
never sketching a heart
