High Noon

Just in case, there is a wheelchair at each corner. The smell of soft tangerines
and day-old newspapers permeates everything. Someone is always arguing about
checkers and eating overcooked oatmeal. The halls ring with the sound of Yahtzee
dice from seven in the morning until ten in the evening. Green bean casseroles
and decks of recycled casino cards don’t make it any more tolerable. At least once
a week a staff member pushes him into the solarium and forgets him there.

  1. Hi Edward,

This is very nicely written as it is a harsh topic of sorts. We play Yatzee all the time on game night, now, I am a little nervous about that as becoming a lifelong career choice, smile. All the Best,Karina
