hydrologic cycle
water moves its own way. where its riven limbs cannot go under or over, they go around. it diverges, splits, veering away from well-worn paths, breaking apart with the ease of swirling dandelion seeds. all tributaries converge; every artery uniting briefly in one briny expanse—then rising, falling, rushing or meandering away into other lands, cracked with heat, drowned in green, or seeking roads to take into the bending sky. these are journeys that do not end; they only begin anew.
