His Legacy

After the great swallowing, strangely robbed of their music, inert inside a large glass jar, coins he collected over the years fill the vacant space, infecting the air with their oxidised breath.

Placed on the kitchen shelf, in perfect symmetry, resting next to it: cornflakes, coco-pops and frosted honey-loops stay silent in same-sized glass jars.

Looking at them, I mull over the packed shape of atoms in objects at rest.

How do they attain nirvana?
