All of Yesterday in Me

year-end snowfall...
these pieces
of my immigrant life

“Please empty me out. Let me be a receiving vessel,” the voice in my mind becomes loud …and louder.

first sunshine...
the snowbanks of yesteryear
between neighbors

“If something comes from outside of me, then I’m not alone, am I?” I murmur to myself on this fresh morning in this fragmented world.
