Neha R. Krishna

becoming the art

with her little fingers she paints colourful butterflies in place of hair. her mother in awe, oh darling! this is so beautiful. do you like butterflies so much?

the little artist looks at her mother. smiles. hugging the canvas she says, once the butterflies are gone, she will look like me.

withering wind—
choosing a wall
for her last portrait

  1. Prose struck hard in its last line. Ku mellowed the heart further leaving me in tears. It is difficult to breathe after reading a few works. This one did that to me

  2. Amazing haibun, Neha.
Most poignant and you’ve left so much unsaid and after reading your poem, the child began to grow in my heart.
