As soon as I lay on the frosty metal table, a shiver runs down my spine. The monitor hanging above me flashes a beam of light. The doctor stares at my future captured on a strip of film.

About the Author

Kinshuk Gupta, a medical student, uses the scalpel of his pen to write about his experiences as an undergraduate student. He is the Poetry Editor at Jaggery Lit and Associate Editor at Usawa Literary Review. His work has been published or is forthcoming in The Hindu, Mad in Asia, Modern Haiku, Presence, and Human/Kind, among others.
