Yet a love story all the same. During a pandemic. A devotion separated by time and place. She stranded in Malawi. I in Malaysia. The proximity in the alphabetized list of nations not enough. Our rendezvous in her homeland thwarted. A road trip down the Adriatic coast called off. There will be no sun and sand to end our separation. Perhaps we too will have to wait for old age.
