When All the Birds Are Gone
Will we see their signature shapes on swirls of cirri? Hear their warbles on autumn winds? Recall how they flew so gracefully, even tandem, in the storm-spiked air? Season after season, will we leave empty feeders outside so children can share stories about miniature beings that once flew in place? When all the birds vanish, who will hold up the sky?
