Alice Frampton

Early Signs

She moves papers around and hides the mail. It's all in a safe place, but where? Cookies from the cookie jar disappear at an alarming rate. Is it mean for me to leave the cookie jar empty? Dirty dishes are deposited into the bathroom sink instead of the kitchen sink, and a horde of popsicle sticks line her dresser drawer. Will she even notice if they're gone? Favorite movies lose their meaning. Some words make no sense. Everyday tasks turn into difficult chores. People, once familiar, become strangers. She's not afraid, because I'm here, but when will my face get lost in the labyrinth?
