Raymond French and Terri L. French
Lake Louise
Recently divorced, and wanting to spend the holidays away from family and friends, I rent a rustic cabin for a month in the Canadian Rockies, on a secluded shore of Lake Louise. Snow softly falls as I sit propped by pillows near the fire, regarding the flames. A few glasses of pinot into the night I feel the call of nature and grabbing a parka and scarf hanging on a peg by the door make the short trudge to the outhouse. As I head back my footsteps have already vanished.
