Rain Song

Sitting in the car,in the rain, in an emptied lot. The radio's plays a sad, sweet song vaguely familiar. [Just me, in the rain, again.]

I un-do the seat belt, put the window down a bit, and wait for the song to end and to learn its name.

your voice
fading out to sea
unanchored

The rain softens, gentles and another song with a different mood starts - a comfort, not a lament. Time to move on.

the rain comes
then goes -
such freedom
