Tsuru
“Come, come to the garden”, Haru and Yuki shouted. Aya the oldest sister was day-dreaming as usual; but she jumped at the sounds of her sisters' screams, and ran with them. In the garden, she saw five cranes preening themselves. Her two sisters slowly crumpled to the floor but Aya stood like a frozen statue staring at these magnificent birds. She drew her red-sleeved kimono to her lips and began biting, biting on a sleeve.
In a week, she would sail to America and meet her future husband for first time.
