Triptych Six Months After Your Death

Today I spent forty dollars on concert tickets, a totally frivolous treat that barely impacted my budget, but a month’s salary for millions of people around the world. This evening I learned that two thirds of inmates in U.S. jails are stuck there for lack of bail – sometimes as little as fifty dollars could free them to work and care for their families while awaiting trial. In St. Joseph, Missouri, it costs an average of seventeen thousand dollars per inch of snow to clear the roads after a winter storm.
