Working Abroad
The Earth Employment Agency on my planet promised us steady work if we immigrated to Earth. I can still hear the manager who recruited us saying that, with our unique physiques, we would never be out of work on his planet.
Perhaps I should explain that, by "unique physiques," he was referring to our torsos. We're shaped a great deal like the geometric figure that Earthlings call a rectangle.
Well, the manager didn't lie to us. We have steady work, all right. But it's a job that most Earthlings consider demeaning and just plain boring.
