Driving on the Skyline through Shenandoah National Park

Every now and then I stopped to grab some shots. At an overlook, a dead tree alone on the slope caught my attention. It stood against the impassive sky, its limbs broken, but its upright stiffness, sharp and stark, gave it the look of a scarecrow whose shabby clothes had been stripped by the wind.
