Drought
Standing at the edge of the lake. Foam from lap and ripple of windblown water nudges my bare feet. Looking west across barren vastness of grassless plains. The sun sliding towards the horizon in cloudless sky of deep emerald blue touched with the beginnings of peach and apricot sunset. The water is cold, the wind is cold. The clicking of my camera disturbs the two remaining ibis foraging in shrinking shallows.
