Angelee Deodhar

Enchantment

As the keynote speaker gives his speech, we keep our coughs to a minimum and listen to him talk about T’ao Chi’en, whose prose reads like the writings of Thoreau at Walden. There are poems by Li Po, Tu Fu, and Basho, translated by various poets. The speaker's poem "Drinking Wine" is evocative of Frost, but another one of his is just a list of endangered animals.
