Symphony No. 3

He used volume itself as an instrument. Plucking tiny notes, he made us lean to hear their whispers, strain to know their melody. Then, pulling in the sound, he gathered its force, releasing a roar that overwhelmed our senses. From the troughs to the crests and back down again, we rode the waves until he tossed us ashore. Drenched. And spent.
