Abidance

After the big cleaning, I am tired. It isn’t because I left it till the customary last day but more that there is so much to clean out. Every handbag has bits of paper – old bills, faded ATM receipts that no one can read. Frayed and creased handwritten notes from my eight year old. When did I forget to stop and empty the bags? When did I change into this lost and confused housewife, packing lunch with complete and total absentmindedness?
