Take with a Grain of Salt

A little bird told me it knows where all the bodies are buried. The white elephant is off to see a man about a dog. The writing is on the wall for the snake in the grass. Sleeping dogs are washing their hands of the matter. An eager beaver eats crow till the cows come home. It’s all grist to the mill says a kettle of fish. The wet hen takes the cake while the cold turkey talks a blue streak. A bird in the hand warns: don’t beat about the bush. The gift horse turns a blind eye to the lame duck.
