Ten Days Before Christmas
The semi-trucks are Christmas decorations on the highway. This year, I can’t wish you a holiday greeting. Red and green cabs, two by two, like animals filling the ark. Not even a Happy New Year. Convoy of yellow and blue brightening the December roads. It has been sixty-one days since we said goodbye. On the road, tears come easy. Tonight is your twentieth wedding anniversary, and I remember why I had to leave. Yesterday I learned how to flood an engine with tears. You always loved her more than me.
