from the place he was sent to via anesthesia, my father recovering from surgery desperately clings to the surreal. He’s in the Intensive Care Unit, but he refuses to see any visitors, especially family. He’s convinced he is the leading scorer of his favorite basketball team. They’re losing the championship game while he’s resigned to the bench. Five members of the hospital staff hold him down in his bed as he fights to get back into the game.
