Hard Knocks


After cracking a tooth, I gave up Warheads, my favorite hard candy. I then turned to English toffee, a chewy alternative, until I lost a filling. Over time I’ve managed to avoid all kinds of sweets, but have never lost the craving for sugar. That I could practice the same restraint in matters of the heart.
