Untouchable

yesterday in the warm sunlight of early spring I had planned to have a picture taken of my family in front of our neighbor’s massive cherry tree when the blossoms were at their peak but the day got away from us with its routines and its roiling busyness and today the petals are floating through the air like snow from another time taking with them that moment of us somewhere far out of reach

crow calls
through a dark gray sky
regrets linger
