Flight


Sounds are tiny colors, the deep brown crunch of fallen leaves, the vibrant green of a cuckoo's call, the warm yellow of a friend's voice, the violet of rolling thunder, the quicksilver of temple bells.

When for the very first time after donning the pristine Navy whites, I stood saluting the tri-colour to a rousing crescendo of our national anthem it was an overwhelming ocean of colours - the scarlet of blood, black of valour, ochre of perspiration, green of abundance, blue of freedom, and the saffron of a destiny fulfilled.
